I’m thrilled to announce today that I have signed with Kinetic Motorsports and Kia Racing for the 2013 Pirelli World Challenge Series!!
When I received the call last May to join Kinetic and race the new Kia Optima Turbo I was ecstatic. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to drive for a manufacturer and help them showcase the capabilities of the 2012 Kia Optima Turbo. My first race with the team was at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May and from that point forward we collectively worked to move the Optima to the top step of the podium. We accomplished our goal at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in June where both Michael Galati and I took victories which were the first for Kia in the Pirelli World Challenge. Overall, it was a great first season for Kinetic and Kia Racing and it certainly set the stage for a great 2013 season.
I’m extremely excited about the upcoming season. The Pirelli World Challenge has released a new and exciting schedule which features some of the best race tracks in North America. For me, the highlights of the schedule are the Toronto Indy event and the addition of the Circuit of the Americas in Texas. The Toronto street circuit is fairly tight and challenging which should make for some great racing. Being my home race, it will be a great opportunity to race in front of the home town crowd. I think COTA will be simply amazing to drive.. Fast and flowing, it should really suit the strengths of the Optima.
March certainly can’t come soon enough, but in the mean time, lots of racing to look forward to starting with the Thunderhill 25 Hour in a few weeks time!
